Seven Pounds

Just not good. Poorly written, poorly directed. Will Smith did very well, as did the leading lady. But that wasn't enough to save the movie.

You know you are in trouble when you get bored 20 minutes in. The movie was too long. Individual scenes were too long, they left questions unanswered for too long, they kept the audience in the dark for too long. I get the impression they were trying to build up a feeling of suspense and intrigue. They failed.

Even though the plot was unique, they still somehow turned it into a cliche. A cliched pile of poo.

Max Payne

Well, I think I need to watch this one in full quality to give a fair review on this one. I enjoyed it, but think I will enjoy it a lot more with good sound and in HD. Overall I liked the action in it, and liked the special effects. Thanks for passing this one on, I can't wait to watch it again. I think I may give it 8/10 now, but would like a rebuttle after I watch it again...

Wanted

The first time I saw this movie, I only thought it was Ok. The opening scene was great, but then seemed to taper off a bit.

Well, I watched it a 2nd time, I really, really enjoyed it! I think maybe I picked up on more of it the 2nd time around, or perhaps I enjoyed the action or how the guy has a crumby life and turns his life around. Telling his boss off and hitting the guy with the keyboard was platinum. The guy made a lot of funny comments though-out the movie too... "I'mmm sorrrry!"

Anyway, I recommend giving it a 2nd shot, and watching it in HD with good surround sound.

Twilight

OMG! Edward is so hot! I would trade my spouse in for him in an instant! (Ok, that's why my wife's friend e-mailed and told her... ha ha!)

Well, this movie was ok. It was a little slow with not a whole lot of action in it. My wife liked it and would rate it higher than I would, I just thought it was ok. If there was more action I probably would have liked it more. Definitely more of a chick-flick.

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People

Meh.

It was okay. Enjoyable even. Just felt a little slow at parts.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Another flick from writer/director Kevin Smith.

I'll say it right up front. I love Kevin Smith's work. Chasing Amy is one of my all time favorites and Clerks is simply brilliant.
But he has been a little hit and miss. I really disliked both Dogma and Jersey Girl. So I watched this one with high hopes but fully aware of the possibility of a complete disappointment.

I was not disappointed. In fact I way dug it. Totally hilarious. Very crude but appropriately so.

Kevin Smith my good sir, you hit a home run.

My recommendation: Check it out.

He was a Quiet Man

Yes.

Yes it is.

It's the bees knees. It's da pimp. It's all that and a bag of potato chips.

At least most of it is. I spent the first 3/4th of this movie completely captivated. Absolutely loving it. I'm talking favorite movie of all time loving it.
Then they lost me. Simple as that. I just couldn't appreciate where the film started to head.

The parts I did love made the movie worth seeing. And I'll probably hang on to it. Try to watch it again. See if I can get a better appreciation for where the writer/director decided to go. But until then, although I'm hesitant to do it, I do recommend you check it out. Let me know what you think.

P.S. From the writer of Constantine. So if you liked that movie(which I did) you might enjoy this one.

P.P.S The performances were simply amazing. I have a new found respect for both Christian slater and Elisha Cuthbert
